Nick Metherall worked as a hydrologist for the Pacific Community (SPC) and more recently as a Senior Technical Advisor for Monitoring and Data Systems for carbon modelling, GIS and remote sensing for the Global Evergreening Alliance NGO. Before this, Nick also worked for the Federal Government Departments of Agriculture, Water and the Environment as well as the Department of the Environment and Energy in Canberra. Nick’s research at the Australian National University and the University of the South Pacific in Fiji has focused on environmental monitoring of water quality. He has conducted his own research projects in Australia, Fiji, Indonesia, Timor and West Papua. In terms of mercury-related work, Nick has supported some of the lab work for lake cores from Sondambile lake in PNG and Lake Narracan in Gippsland, Victoria. Nick has also supported the web design and content for Mercury Australia.
